Hello my fellow dog lovers.

Today was a really sad day for me. I found out one of the dogs I have been working with for the past month was euthanized last night. She was just under a year old and was a beautiful dog. She was a pitbull mix and had great markings on her face. I worked with her with two other trainers and we were really making great progress. Her energy level was high and she was quite excitable but we taught her how to relax and settle and alot of the unruly behavior she displayed when she first arrived was much improved. I was terribly disappointed to learn that she failed her behavior assessment test due to aggressiveness and had to be “put down”.

It is always very sad to lose one of our dogs to euthanasia especially when it is to to behavior problems that could have been prevented had the dog been properly socialized as a pup. That’s why I can’t stress enough to you who have young puppies or are thinking of getting a puppy; PLEASE socialize your dog.
